James Beale – Associate Director
With over 7 years of experience in property finance at Westpac, most recently as a Senior Relationship Manager, James brings a deep understanding of the lending landscape. He works closely with clients to structure tailored finance solutions that support their property goals.
James studied in the United States on a golf scholarship and played professionally before shifting his focus to property finance. Outside of work, he enjoys surfing, playing golf, and spending quality time with his wife Rochelle, son Charlie, and dog Bear.

Nick Turner - Director
Nick Turner is a Director and Co Founder of Fortis Capital, bringing more than 20 years of experience in property finance, including over a decade in the non bank lending sector. He founded Kiwibank's Property Finance Unit and was responsible for its financial performance, strategic direction, and governance of a substantial property lending portfolio.
Outside of work, Nick enjoys spending time with his wife, Ana, and their two sons, Jack and Louis. Much of his spare time is spent supporting the boys' sporting pursuits, travelling with family, and making the most of New Zealand's outdoor lifestyle.

Jono Ball – Director
Jono Ball is a Director and Co Founder of Fortis Capital with over 13 years of experience in property finance. He specialises in advising developers and commercial property investors on complex funding strategies for acquisitions, developments, and investment assets. Since co founding Fortis Capital, Jono has played a key role in arranging hundreds of millions of dollars in funding, earning a reputation for his commercial approach, deep lender relationships, and ability to deliver outcomes in challenging market conditions. Prior to Fortis Capital, he was recognised as Kiwibank's top performing lender for four consecutive years.
Outside of work, Jono enjoys spending time with family and friends, following rugby, and exploring New Zealand with his partner Tess and their two children.

Simon Paris – Associate Director
Simon Paris is an experienced property finance professional with over 20 years of experience in property finance. He has built a strong reputation for structuring complex transactions, working closely with developers, investors, and business owners to deliver tailored funding solutions across a broad range of projects. Simon is passionate about building long-term relationships and helping clients achieve their property goals.
Outside of work, Simon enjoys spending time with his wife Greta and their two girls, trail running, heading into the bush to forage and is always looking for the next outdoor adventure.

Kennedy Tan - Senior Manager
With 20 years of experience spanning property investment, development, and operations in both New Zealand and China, Kennedy has led financial modelling and feasibility studies behind acquisitions worth $350 million-plus and oversaw the delivery of 265 homes across multiple projects, including a Master Builders House of the Year winner in 2022.
Bilingual in English and Mandarin, Kennedy is known for building trusted relationships across the Chinese New Zealand community and has extensive experience navigating planning, stakeholder, and political processes. He also maintains strong connections with central and local government agencies, community housing providers, and key industry stakeholders, helping clients progress complex property and development initiatives with confidence.
Outside of work, Kennedy enjoys travelling with his family, and watching a game of footy.
